With many governors complaining of their inability to meet obligations in prompt payment of salaries and fixing dilapidated infrastructure, the 36 states shared N1 trillion within the first six months of the year, the Nigerian Compass learnt yesterday.
While some got N90 billion and above each, others got less than N20 billion.
According to a table compiled by the on-line journal, Economic Confidential, oil-bearing states in the South-South got the highest allocation of N386.8 billion, followed by the North-West, N162.5 billion and the South-West, N160.7 billion.

The North-East got N119.7 billion, North-Central, N117.2 billion and South-East, N99.4 billion.
Akwa Ibom State alone received N104 billion, while its neighbour, Cross River, only got N18 billion within the six months.
Among the non oil-bearing states, Lagos got the highest allocation of N48.5 billion followed by Kano with N31.9 billion.
In a table that depicts the ranking of the states by the volume of allocations they receive in that period, Akwa Ibom State came first with N104 billion, followed by Rivers, N99.1 billion; Delta N90.4 billion; Bayelsa N49 billion and Lagos N48 billion.
