CHIEF ADETUNJI OLURIN AS MILITARY ADMINISTRATOR OF OLD OYO STATE.

I tried to scan through the past records of Chief Adetunji Olurin, the Ogun state Gubernatorial candidate on the platform of PDP to make it known to the people in Ogun and beyond if the man has the credibility as claimed. To my surprise he has a positive and convincing records. Below is the summary of his past records as Oyo State Military Administrator. Will this convince you or someone else? just lets check now.

      ü  When Chief Adetunji  Idowu Olurin was Military Administrator of old Oyo State, he introduced Teachers Voluntary Service Scheme to absorb 3,000 NCE graduates dropped from NYSC Scheme.

ü  He introduced maintenance culture which many governments lack.

ü  He instructed the Agricultural Credit Corporation to assist Farmers in getting credit facilities at a good interest rate.

ü  Tractors and seedlings were given out to farmers at subsidized rate.

ü   Industrialists in the State were given soft loan credits at about seven and half percent interest.

ü  He established Oyo State integrated self-employment scheme where the unskilled in various small-scale industries are trained in selected workshops. The trainees were given stipend of #50 per month as transport fares allowance.

ü  He established Graduate Employment Scheme and graduates who have degrees in Agricultural disciplines are encouraged to take to farming.

ü  Hear Olurin in one of his interviews with the press as Governor of Oyo State, (Newswatch of April 25, 1988 @ page 8) in response to his experience as governor. “You can’t deceive them (Oyo people) for long.  Once they know the truth about what you are doing, they are very appreciative, hospitable and will do anything to support government programmes. Look at the way they have supported education in the state. Promise them what you can do and let them know the capability of the government. That is why they have supported government through self-help projects which are commendable.
